The Heaton Group will next week open a competitive socialising and late-night venue in Wigan.

Located inside the historic Eckersley Mill at Cotton Works, Factory Floor officially opens on 26 March and follows a £3m investment at the Grade II listed mill.

It will have space for around 350 guests and offers seven interactive games including darts, shuffleboard, pool, karaoke, skee ball, basketball and beer pong, alongside retro arcade machines.

The food offer will come from the team behind Super Fry Guys at Factory Floor’s sister venue Feast At The Mills. Menu items will include burgers, BBQ wings, cornflake chicken tenders, and Detroit style pizza served in slabs or smaller slices.

Vegetarian and vegan options will include nachos, mozzarella dippers, a plant-based burger, and pizza as well as fries and garlic focaccia.

Dating back to 1884, Mill One at Eckersley Mill was the first mill built on the historic Eckersley site, once one of the largest cotton mills in the region.

“Factory Floor is all about bringing people together for shared experiences in a space that feels exciting while still respecting the incredible history of Eckersley Mill,” says John Heaton, managing director at The Heaton Group.

“We’ve transformed part of this historic building into somewhere people can play, eat, drink and celebrate under one roof. Seeing it now open and full of life again is incredibly rewarding.

“The Cotton Works is continuing to grow as a destination, and Factory Floor adds another exciting layer to that, creating a venue that will bring energy to the site both during the day and late into the evening.”

Factory Floor joins an expanding line-up of independent brands already operating within the development, including pub The Three Mills, outdoor food and drink market Feast at The Mills, and creative workspace Weave Co-Working, which opened in summer 2025.
