Jacks Pizza will be located on Sydney Street in Brighton’s North Laine area in a first floor site above Chinese supermarket Yum Yum Oriental Market and will serve Detroit-style pizzas as well as a range of small plates and sides.
The business was founded by Jack Perry who started out by making pizzas at his parent’s house as a form of ‘therapy’ after the end of a relationship forced him to move back to his family home. The pizzas, which were originally made from his home kitchen, have been available for delivery on platforms including Uber Eats and Deliveroo since early 2024.
Jacks also operated a residency at Brighton pub The Brunswick in July 2024 serving a range of pizzas including the Honey Hot Pep - house made marina, mozzarella, pepperoni, ricotta, hot honey, basil and parmesan; Drop it Like it’s Hot - house made marina, mozzarella, ‘nduja, pepperoni, jalapenos, chilli flakes, basil, sriracha and parmesan; and The Rocket Man - house made marina, mozzarella, red onion, plum tomatoes, basil, rocket and parmesan.
Detailing his journey to opening his debut restaurant on social media, Perry says that the gas works at the restaurant has been completed after a six-month wait and that the ovens are being installed in the coming days.
“Every day we’re one step closer to opening the doors and serving Detroit pizza in the North Laine,” he says.
