The restaurant group has appointed Zane Collins of Rushtons Insolvency to oversee the process involving the brand’s parent company Meatailer, according to The Gazette.
Last month the group closed the majority of its eight restaurants with just two MEATliquors remaining open in London’s Oxford Circus and East Dulwich alongside its sister sports bar BLOODsports in Covent Garden.
Its restaurants in Islington, Clapham Junction, Queensway, Brighton and Forest Hill have closed.
In its most recent accounts, Meatailer reported pre-tax profit of £118,000 for the year to 30 June 2024, up from a loss of £65,000 the previous year.
The group delivered turnover of £15.2m during the period, compared to £13.6m in 2023. Headline EBITDA was £709,000, up from £470,000, with the business recording an overall loss for the period, after tax, of £62,000, narrowing from a £106,000 loss the prior year.
