The group behind The Wolseley will open its first London hotel later this year, opposite the original restaurant on Piccadilly.

Minor Hotels will open The WestDill Mayfair Hotel London in Piccadilly later this year as part of its new Colbert Collection, inspired by restaurant brand Colbert, which is also part of its portfolio.

Housed within a Grade II listed building on the corner of Piccadilly and Albemarle Street that was the former NatWest bank and offices, the hotel will have 50 rooms as well as a restaurant and bar

The hotel is opening in partnership with Royal Group of Companies, a Singapore-based real estate investor and developer.

“We are excited to bring our new premium soft brand to the UK with the upcoming launch of The WestDill Mayfair Hotel London, Colbert Collection,” says Dillip Rajakarier, CEO of Minor Hotels and group CEO of parent company Minor International

“The property represents a unique strategic opportunity for Minor Hotels to be present in an exceptional location in central London and unlocks new avenues to partner with distinctive, character-led properties.

“We are delighted to be working with Royal Group of Companies Singapore to bring Colbert Collection to London and are confident this new property will represent a highly attractive offering for visitors to the city.”

Last month it was announced that Minor was taking The Wolseley brand to New York with the opening of a hotel under its The Wolseley Hotels division.

Minor Hotels describes its Colbert Collection as a range of hotels and resorts that ‘effortlessly integrate the local community and social spaces to connect guests with the people around them and inspire them to write their unique travel story together’.

The WestDill Mayfair will open in the final quarter of this year, with more details to follow.
