Duda Diner, the Malaysian family-style pop-up restaurant founded by Hakeem and Zura Ahmad, will launch at boutique hotel The Pilgrm in Paddington this September.

Marking the fourth and final guest chef takeover for the hotel’s 2026 Incubator Kitchen Series, Duda Diner’s residency will kick off on 17 September and run until the end of December.

Duda Diner draws inspiration from family recipes and the Ahmad’s favourite places to eat across Malaysia as well as the couple’s own experiences of building a life in London. The cuisine is inspired by favourite family recipes, roadside stalls, late-night suppers, wedding feasts, market breakfasts and beloved eateries scattered across Malaysia.

Designed to be shared family-style, the menu will change with the seasons. Variations of Malaysian stir-frys, whole grilled fish dishes such as ikan bakar - seabream with laksa beurre blanc, xo chilli, pickled tuhauand; and takes on classic kerabu salads like bitter leaves, ginger lime dressing and candied nuts will make rotating appearances.

Favourites such as the tempoyak oyster, made with Malaysia’s famously pungent fermented durian; and the DUDA Burger - two smashed beef patties, cheese, a fried egg with a Sarawak peppercorn chilli sauce, will also feature.

Duda Diner at The Pilgrm follows the couple’s popular eight-month pop-up at Goodcup in Nunhead.
