Independent pizza brand Doctor Dough Pizza will open is first permanent restaurant next month following a three-year search for a site.

The brand, which specialises in New York-style slices, is launching on Chiswick’s Devonshire Road, offering collection from next month before opening for dine-in guests in September.

The menu will bring Doctor Dough’s full range of New York-style pizzas in both 12 and 18 inch formats to Chiswick, alongside new menu additions exclusive to the permanent site.

Founded by West London entrepreneur Sonay Ali, Doctor Dough Pizza first gained popularity from a stall in Hammersmith’s Lyric Square Market and grew to prominence through market trading, pop-up residencies and collaborations with some of London’s best-loved independent operators, including supporting the launch of Vincenzo’s

Ali was Inspired in part by his experience living with Crohn’s disease, and created a pizza that was lighter to eat thanks to a distinctive fermented dough-making process that makes a more digestible pizza that retains the flavour, texture and indulgence of traditional New York-style slices. The approach inspired both the business and its name.

“This neighbourhood means a lot to us. We’ve had our sights set on Devonshire Road since 2023, so to finally find our home here feels incredibly special,” says Ali.

“Chiswick has such a strong independent food scene and we’re surrounded by some of the best pizza, coffee, brunch and bakery spots in London. It’s exactly where we wanted to be.”
