In a post on social media, Vermuteria said it has closed it doors for the final time and that it was ‘devastated’.
Demetre, who is also behind restaurant Wild Honey at Sofitel St James’s, opened Vermuteria with Michael Sodeau in 2018. The bar was known for its large selection of vermouths as well as its exploration of the connections between cycling and food and drink in honour of Demetre’s passion for cycling.
“After eight wonderful years at Coal Drops Yard, Vermuteria has had to close its doors for one final time. We are devastated for our incredible staff, loyal customers, friends and supporters,” the post reads.
“It’s been an incredible journey and we are thankful that so many of you were able to join us and create lasting memories. The doors have closed on this chapter but the fire and hunger remain.”
