Giggling Squid is launching its biggest menu overhaul to date with 16 new dishes in larger portion sizes.

The Thai restaurant group says it has made a commitment to serving larger dishes as part of its brand values rooted in the Thai principle of ‘Nam Jai’ – which translates as generosity from the heart.

The menu update also includes a redesigned, photo-led menu inspired by how food is ordered in Thailand.

New dishes include khao mok moo - a Thai take on biryani featuring wok-fried rice and chilli pork wrapped in a lotus leaf; yellow noodle tamarind duck; whole sea bass green curry; and Thai apple pie spring rolls.

“In Thailand, generosity is how you welcome people to your table, and it’s how we’ve looked after our guests since our first little restaurant in Brighton,” says co-founder Pranee Laurillard.

“So while portions quietly shrink across high streets and supermarket shelves, ours won’t. Our portions are as generous as they were when we opened in 2002, and that’s how they’ll stay.”

Giggling Squid has also revamped to its menu for children and teens, including a refreshed Kids Thai Tapas Set and a new ‘Big Squids’ menu for older children who have outgrown the standard kids’ options.

“This new menu is the biggest change we’ve ever made, with sixteen new dishes to discover alongside the favourites people already love, all served with the warm welcome and beautiful spaces Giggling Squid is known for,” adds Laurillard.

“Our hope, as ever, is simply to be the highlight of people’s week.”
