The Taiwanese restaurant group, which is known for its xiao long bao soup dumplings, will open a 160-cover restaurant on Lewis Cubitt Walk in King’s Cross in December.
The new restaurant will also be home to the brand’s first dedicated alfresco dining space, a 30-cover area designed to host events and dumpling masterclasses.
As with its other London venues, the brand’s signature show kitchen will be at the heart of the restaurant, where diners can watch chefs create its xiao long bao. Other items on the 70-dish menu will include pork chop and egg fried rice; special noodle soup with braised beef; and steamed chicken soup.
Din Tai Fung was founded in Taipei more 60 years ago by Yang Bing-yi and operates more than 180 restaurants across Asia, North America, the UAE and the UK. It first arrived in the UK in 2018 with its flagship Covent Garden restaurant, and has since opened sites in Selfridges, Centre Point and Canary Wharf.
