Ramo Ramen, which is located on Soho’s Brewer Street, will serve its last bowl of ramen on 27 September, it has announced.
The restaurant, which serves Filipino-Japanese fusion food, is part of Maginhawa Group, which operates brands including Mamasons Dirty Ice Cream, Bintang, and Guanabama.
Ramo Ramen opened in Soho in September 2021 using Filipino soup and stew dishes to create novelty ‘Ramo’ ramens. Ramens on the menu include the Sinigang, made with a tamarind seafood broth, and the Oxtail Kare Kare that features a peanut broth and pulled oxtail.
Despite the closure, the brand hinted that it would be making a return, saying: “It’s been an amazing journey, but we’re excited for a new chapter.
“Don’t worry, we’re not finished. Thank you to everyone who came through, slurped a bowl, brought a friend, and made Ramo what it is.
“This isn’t the last you’ll see of us.”
Ramo Ramen made its debut in Kentish Town in 2018 with the aim of ‘revolutionising’ Japanese. The restaurant closed in August 2024.
