Gopal’s Corner will open at the food court in The Bullring next month, marking the brand’s seventh location.
The Birmingham restaurant will serve the brand’s roti-focused menu, with dishes that include its roti canai; mee goreng mamak (stir-fried egg noodles with egg, prawns, tofu and peanuts); and spinach and cheese murtabak as well as thosai (a thin, savoury pancake served with masala and chutneys); and banana leaf rice and curry.
Sweet options of its rotis (pictured below) will also be available: the planta, drizzled with condensed milk; and the pisang, filled with banana.
Launched by Roti King founder Gopal in 2018, Gopal’s Corner operates six locations, including sites at Westfield Shepherd’s Bush and Westfield Stratford, as well as four across London’s Market Halls in Canary Wharf, Oxford Circus, Victoria and Paddington.
“Opening our first site outside of London is a really exciting milestone for Gopal’s Corner, and Birmingham felt like the natural next step for us,” says Gopal.
“We’re looking forward to bringing the flavours of Malaysian Tamil cuisine to a new city, and contributing to the melting pot of cultures in Birmingham.”
Gopal’s Corner Birmingham will open on 12 October.
