Thunderbird Fried Chicken moves into Nashville-style space

Thunderbird Fried Chicken has become the latest brand to tap into the popularity of Nashville-style chicken.

The four-strong London-based operator is launching a new Nashville-style hot chicken concept across its sites as well as on Deliveroo.

NashVegas Hot Chicken will be available at Thunderbird’s restaurants in The O2, Clapham, Charing Cross and Wimbledon, offering three core chicken options including tenders, wings and a Nashville-style sandwich.

The launch will also include Southern-inspired sides including waffle fries and mac & cheese.

The menu will feature four heat levels, ranging from mild for those who are ‘too chicken’ to the maximum heat option ‘What the Cluck’, with the concept drawing on Nashville’s music culture and reputation for bold flavours.

“We’ve fallen in love with the story of Nashville, which is a true music hub where loud tunes naturally translate into loud, vibrant flavours,” says Paul Gilchrist, outgoing CEO at Thunderbird Fried Chicken.

“NashVegas brings that high-octane energy, neon atmosphere, and serious spice directly to our guests, whether they are dining in or ordering straight to their door.”

The development comes amid a slew of new Nashville-style chicken brands from the US opening over here. Both Dave’s Hot Chicken, which is operated in the UK by Azzurri Group, and Houston Hot Chicken, run in partnership with Pizza Express in the UK, specialise in the chicken, which is available in a range of heat levels.

NashVegas Hot Chicken will be available for dine-in, takeaway and delivery from 14 October.
