Isabel maître d’ James Gummer to open in Notting Hill
Former The Wolseley and current Isabel maître d’ James Gummer is to open a neighbourhood restaurant in Notting Hill later this year.

On the former site of Italian restaurant Ripe Tomato, 7 All Saints Road is described as a seasonal modern European restaurant that “believes in the value of community, and the benefits of nurturing relationships with regular concepts and those that live locally."

Gummer started his career working at M&C Saatchi as an account manager, but whilst working on the marketing for highly rated Borough pasta restaurant Padella he realised he wanted to work in restaurants. His CV includes New York restaurant group The Smile, Chris Corbin and Jeremy King’s The Wolseley and Santa Cruz co.’s Isabel in Mayfair, which opened earlier this year.

7 All Saints Road’s launch menu includes the likes of Iberico ham, grilled endive and sherry vinegar; grilled aubergine, chickpeas, heritage carrots & turmeric honey dressing; wild duck with jerusalem artichoke, blackberries and parsnip crisps; and steamed pudding with blackberry and ginger and Jersey cream.

Ripe Tomato was founded by singer and restaurateur Ethel Coley 20 years ago at around the same time The All Saints girl group named themselves in honour of the street where they first met. Charles Benjamin Associates acted on behalf of the Coley family while Gummer, who lives locally, was represented by Restaurant Property.
