Chef Judy Joo has announced that she has left Jinjuu, the Korean restaurant she opened in London’s Soho in early 2015.

In a statement the chef said: "On 21 June 2019, I left Jinjuu Soho after an incredible five years. I’ve loved being a part of it and the team are all very talented, so I have no doubt they will continue bringing the best of Korean food to London.

Korean American chef Joo is known for being the host of Food Network's Korean Food Made Simple and was also a judge on cooking programme Iron Chef UK.

In the statement she said that she was “really looking forward to my next chapter” adding that she would be announcing new plans in the near future.

She has most recently been working on her latest cookbook, Korean Soul Food, which will be published at the beginning of October.

Jinjuu, which translates as ‘pearl’, is located on Soho’s Kingly Street and serves traditional Korean street food and sharing plates, which Joo says ‘underpins all Korean cooking’

Its signature dishes include its Korean fried chicken; wagyu bulgogi sliders; and bossam, the Korean dish of thinly-sliced pork belly wrapped in salad leaves with pickles and sauces.
