Fireaway pizza to double its estate to more than 100 sites this year
Locations for the new openings include Bexleyheath, Dagenham and Dartford with a further 20 franchise agreements signed and locations being sought.
The move is part of the fast-growing pizza brand’s expansion plans both here and internationally as it says it looks to emulate Domino’s and Pizza Hut and become a global brand.
Since launching in Mitcham in south London in 2016 Fireaway has grown to 55 sites across the country, with that number expected to double by the end of 2021. The company says it would eventually like to see several Fireaways in every city in the UK.
Founder and CEO Mario Aleppo started Fireaway having initially intended to open a Subway franchise. The pizza brand takes cues from the Sandwich giant’s operations, with customers able to choose from four different bases, four different cheeses, four meats and 20 toppings. The price of the pizza is the same regardless of which combination is chosen.
From there a regular customer asked to become a franchisee and within six months a second Fireaway had opened. A year later the company was opening a franchise site every three months, and is now opening roughly one a week.
As well as the UK, Fireaway has signed up master franchisees in Canada, France, Germany, The Netherlands, Bangladesh, Pakistan and India.
