Upcoming Leicester Square hotel The Londoner has released further details for its signature restaurant Whitcomb’s.

Set to launch on 16 September, the restaurant will be overseen by Shailesh Deshmukh - previously of The Leela Palaces Mumbai - and will serve a French menu ‘led by quality and seasonality’.

Available for lunch and dinner, Whitcomb’s a la carte menu will feature a selection of plates made up of French classics as well as ‘modern interpretations of much-loved dishes’. Small plates include tuna tartare with confit egg yolk and Oscietra caviar; escargots with white wine, garlic, and n’duja lemon butter; and yellowtail carpaccio with Côte d’Azur lemon, olive oil and black sea salt.

Larger dishes include rigatoni au homard, with seared lobster and Scotch bonnet labneh crème; agnolotti au fromage et beurre, with a rich cheese béchamel and crispy sage butter; and filet de sole with citrus garlic butter; and lobster Thermidor.

The wine offer has been overseen by sommelier twins Augusto and Alberto Gherardi and will explore 'a coveted collection of wineries from across the world, as well as a wider list made up from new and old territories' with a focus on France.

Designed by Yabu Pushelberg, Whitcomb’s will feature warm tones, a grand marble table and a 'whimsical' ceiling-mounted metal sculpture by artist Shida Salehi.

Part of Edwardian Hotels London, The Londoner is billed as the ‘world’s first super boutique hotel’. Spread across 16 floors, the £300m development has been designed in collaboration with architectural designers Yabu Pushelberg, and will have 350 bedrooms.

There are five publically-accessible F&B concepts including Champagne-focused breakfast, tea and caviar spot The Stage, rooftop izakaya lounge 8 at The Londoner; and neighbourhood-style pub and gin bar Joshua’s Tavern.

There will also be two outlets only open to residents of the hotel; private club and whisky bar The Residence; and health and wellness concept Refuel.
