Mowgli to open in Brighton next spring
The primarily northern-based Indian street food group will launch on Dukes Lane, in a space previously occupied by retail outlet Oasis.
It will mark the group's most southerly opening to date, and will come hot on the heels of Mowgli's London debut, which is scheduled for next month.
In an Instagram post, Katona confirmed the Brighton opening with a series of design mockups showing different exterior colours including sherbet pink, light blue, and dark green; the latter of which is synonymous with the group's branding.
She said: "So exciting to announce my Brighton Mowgli opens next spring in this utterly charming rounded building in Dukes Lane.
"I have already designed her up - I want swings in the windows and my heart is rather set on our sherbet pink like our Notts Mowgli - what do you think? I have mocked a few other colours up for you but as we approach our most southerly site I think this lightness of touch and sweetness of hope is prettiest in pink."
A former barrister, Katona launched Mowgli in Liverpool in 2014.
The group currently operates 13 restaurants across the country, most recently opening a site in Cheltenham.
Mowgli has been on the expansion trail since securing a £3.45m backing from private equity company Foresight Group in 2017.
Other cities currently being considered by Katona to take Mowgli to include Edinburgh, Glasgow and Preston.
