Indian restaurant group Tamatanga heads to Leeds
The new site will be located in The Light on The Headrow in the city centre and will have a 120 cover restaurant and a 40 cover bar.
A further site, in Sheffield, is also expected to launch soon.
Founded in Nottingham in 2008, the group says it operates in the ‘mid-range’ of the casual dining sector offering an Indian menu that mixes ‘the familiar and the slightly less expected and many classic dishes updated with a modern twist’.
Menu sections include clay oven-cooked dishes; wraps, biryani bowls. chaats, thalis, salad bowls, curry bowls and small plates.
Main dishes average out at £15 with small plates priced between £5 and £8.
“We’re absolutely thrilled to be bringing our food to a city as vibrant as Leeds. Our fresh, homely, and very real approach to cooking is perfect for lunch, dinner and anything in between. From warming curries to flavourful salads and heavenly small plates, there’s something for everyone,” says creative director Mona Kular.
