Black and White Hospitality and its perennial muse Marco Pierre White will launch a pub brand in the Suffolk town of Felixstowe later this year.

Marco Pierre White Ale House will occupy a site that is currently trading as The Brook Hotel but which will soon be rebranded to the ‘boutique-style’ Hotel Coco.

The Orwell Road hotel will also be home to a Marco Pierre White Steakhouse Bar & Grill restaurant.

The two new openings are the result of a deal between the hotel’s owners the Govindasamy family and Black and White Hospitality, the franchising arm of Marco Pierre White Restaurants.

Located in a pre-existing pub space called The Queen’s Head, the new pub will ‘appeal to locals and visitors who want to enjoy quality food and drink, but in a more casual setting than a formal restaurant’.

With a ‘traditional, homely feel’ it will serve ‘simple, classic food’ from Pierre White’s various restaurant menus such as pies, steaks and fish and chips.

The new concept appears to be quite similar to an older, The City-based brand called Marco Pierre White Steak & Alehouse, which changed its name to London Steakhouse Co - Marco Pierre White in 2010.

“The Great British pub is more than just a place to drink beer. The best become hubs of their community or places where locals go out to eat,” says chairman and CEO of Black and White Hospitality Nick Taplin.

“The Marco Pierre White Ale House will offer quality food in a more casual atmosphere and we’re delighted to have teamed up with the Govindasamy family and to be opening in this fantastic location.”

“We’re naturally delighted to announce the news of more openings especially at such a challenging time in our industry,”  “The owner sees the true benefit of the Marco Pierre White brand and an expert F&B team to support.”

Muralee Govindasamy, who has owned the hotel since 2002, added: “We’re incredibly excited about the plans for the hotel and restaurant. The investment will elevate the venue considerably and we’re absolutely delighted to have someone of Marco’s calibre open one of his restaurants in Felixstowe.”

All of Black & White Hospitality F&B brands - which include Marco Pierre White Steak House Bar & Grill, Marco’s New York Italian, Bardolino and Wheeler’s of St James’s - are related to Pierre White.

The business currently has around 40 franchised sites trading. Later this year, the company will launch a Marco’s New York Italian in a new 127-bedroom Holiday Inn in Blackpool.
