The team behind six-strong restaurant group ZAAP Thai will launch an Asian-inspired chicken shop concept in Nottingham later this month.

Gai ZAAP, which translates to ‘Super Tasty Chicken’ in Thai, offers a ‘beak to feet’ menu that utilises every part of the chicken, ‘minimising waste and maximising flavour’.

The menu will include fried and grilled chicken options, available with a selection of homemade sauces and coatings including chilli-tamarind, spicy Thai jeaw, crispy chilli and garlic and tom yum spice.

A selection of chicken main plates that include Thai-style salt and pepper chicken, fragrant Hainanese chicken rice, chicken noodles, grilled chicken with som tum salad will also be available.

There will also be small plates including  crispy chicken skin, chicken cakes, chicken livers, chicken satay and chicken feet.

Sides, meanwhile, will include crispy fries, sticky rice, corn on the cob, halloumi, and tornado potatoes.

ZAAP Thai currently operates Thai street food restaurants in Sheffield, Nottingham, York, Newcastle and Leeds.

“We’re thrilled to introduce Gai ZAAP to the vibrant culinary scene of Nottingham, it’s a concept we’ve been developing for a long time and we’re so excited to bring it to life” says Gai ZAAP managing director Gerrard Marks. “We’re taking the chicken shop and injecting a unique Asian twist. We’re creating a dining experience that celebrates the versatility and deliciousness of chicken in every bite.”
