Restaurants including Kolae (London, pictured) AGORA (London), Bavette (Leeds), Margo (Glasgow), Little Hollows Pasta (Bristol) and Riverine Rabbit (Birmingham) are among those to receive a Bib this year, which is awarded to restaurants ‘offering particularly good quality, good value cooking’.
It is a considerable increase on last year when 20 restaurants were awarded Bib Gourmands.
There are now a total of 150 restaurant that hold the accolade within Great Britain and Ireland.
11 London restaurants got a Bib Gourmand. There were five new Bib Gourmands in Scotland, one in Wales, one in Northern Ireland and two in the Republic of Ireland.
Three pubs were also awarded the accolade: The Peacock Inn in Chelsworth, Suffolk, the Horse & Groom in Bourton-on-the-Hill, Gloucestershire and the Hero in Maida Vale, London.
“While all Bib Gourmands are unique in style and approach, they share the same spirit of generosity and a commitment to quality cooking,” a Michelin spokesperson says.
“This year, no less than 36 restaurants have been newly awarded a Bib Gourmand, showing the wealth of restaurants around the UK and Ireland that are committed to offering affordable, high-quality cooking.”
