Pachamama Group will open a new Greek restaurant in Shoreditch mid next month, taking its total number of London sites to five.

Named after the Greek flatbread, Lagana will occupy the Great Eastern Street site that previously housed the group’s Pachamama East restaurant.

The new restaurant – which features a distinctive crayon-drawn logo (above) – will be the group’s third Greek concept, joining Zephyr in Notting Hill and Bottarga in Chelsea.

Meals will start with the puffed-up flatbreads, designed to be eaten with a selection of seasonal spreads and dips. Other dishes include courgette tempura with spiced red pepper sauce; savoury loukoumades stuffed with Graviera cheese; corn on the cob brushed with yellow chilli butter and dusted with cumin salt; and beef tartare with shallots, capers and kokkinisto ketchup, served with shattering potato crisps.

The kitchen will be led by group executive chef Tzoulio Loulai.

Lagana’s interiors, designed by Pachamama Group managing director Lunara Bramley-Fenton, will feature vintage chandeliers, paper tablecloths, and a brushed steel mosaic bar running the length of the space.

The creation of Lagana apparently spells the end for the group’s namesake Peruvian restaurant concept.

Pachamama Group’s original Pachamama restaurant in Marylebone closed last year to make way for a new Italian restaurant concept called Nina.
