Alley Cats’ upcoming restaurant in Notting Hill will launch with an expanded menu, including Fat Cat Squares — the brand’s take on Sicilian-style square pizza — alongside a range of sub sandwiches.

The Notting Hill site will also feature a new “slice hatch” offering direct grab-and-go service, a first for the fast-expanding, NYC-inspired brand that is best known for its 14-inch pizzas.

Revealed earlier this year, the pizzeria will be located at the former Verderame site at 84 Westbourne Grove.

The opening will bring Alley Cats’ London estate to three sites, joining the original Marylebone restaurant and a second location in Chelsea.

The first-floor dining room will overlook Portobello Market, channeling Alley Cats’ signature stripped-back look with exposed brickwork and a warm, lived-in feel.

By contrast, the ground floor will take a more adventurous visual direction, inspired by the creative and bohemian character of Portobello Road.

Alley Cats is owned and operated by ATFC, the group behind Angus Steakhouse, Muriel’s Kitchen and the National Gallery’s Ochre restaurant.

The menu is overseen by head chef Francesco Macri, who has developed a range of 14-inch, thin and crispy pizzas that combine recipes passed down from his grandmother with techniques refined throughout his career in restaurants in both Rome and London.

The brand launched its first restaurant in Marylebone in 2023 and followed with a Chelsea opening the following year.

As a result, it has become one of the fastest-growing non-Neapolitan pizza restaurant groups in the capital.
