A Bib Gourmand designation (see full list, below) is awarded by the Michelin Guide to restaurants that offer excellent quality food at good value.
Michelin does not publish a fixed price threshold each year, but £30 for three courses (or equivalent) - excluding drinks and service - is understood to be the current benchmark in Great Britain and Ireland.
Thirteen restaurants in England received the accolade, including Cantaloupe in Stockport, Erst in Manchester, Shwen Shwen in Sevenoaks and Gina in Chingford.
A dozen London restaurants were awarded a Bib Gourmand. The majority of recipients are relatively recent launches and include Lai Rai in Peckham, Akara in Borough Market, Singburi in Shoreditch and Goodbye Horses in Islington.
Four Scottish restaurants received the accolade, including Sebb’s in Glasgow and Mara in Aberdeen.
Two Welsh restaurants won the award, alongside one in Northern Ireland and four in the Republic of Ireland.
A single restaurant in the Channel Islands was awarded a Bib Gourmand: Alba in St Peter Port, Guernsey.
Last year Michelin handed out 36 Bib Gourmands.
There are now 187 Bib Gourmand restaurants listed in the Michelin Guide Great Britain & Ireland.
The full list of awards for Great Britain & Ireland will be announced on Monday 9 February at The Convention Centre Dublin, marking the first time the Michelin Guide Great Britain & Ireland ceremony has been hosted in Ireland.
