More information has emerged about the upcoming London restaurant from the team behind Dubai’s Trèsind Studio, the world’s first and only three-Michelin-starred Indian restaurant.

First mooted late last year, the restaurant will be located at 13–14 Hanover Street, in a building that, according to planning documents, was most recently used for retail and office space.

It has been confirmed that Trèsind Mayfair – set to launch in spring – will start out offering a tasting menu only, though it remains unclear whether it will be positioned at the same level as its thrice-starred UAE counterpart.

Menu details remain limited, but Trèsind London will showcase some of the brand’s signature dishes, including the Chaat Trolley and the Khichdi of India, a refined take on the popular rice and lentil dish that features on ingredient from each of India’s major states, alongside new items created specifically for the UK.

The menu will “celebrate exceptional British produce” while “remaining rooted in Trèsind’s signature approach of progressive Indian cuisine.”

The bar at Trèsind will introduce a mixology narrative called An Indian Odyssey, exploring the ‘richness and diversity of India’s regional drinking traditions’.

Designed by 1747, Trèsind Mayfair’s interiors mirror the restaurant’s culinary philosophy: an exploration of India through a contemporary lens.

The design will strike a “deliberate balance between tradition and innovation harmonising cultural references with clean, contemporary lines”.

The ground floor houses the main dining room and a private dining space. Below will be a basement bar and an ‘experiential’.

Suyash Nath, CEO of Trèsind’s owner Passion F&B UK & US, says: “Trèsind began in Dubai in 2014 as my father’s passion project – a modern interpretation of Indian cuisine rooted in creativity and hospitality."

“Over the years it has grown into a global story, and bringing it to London feels like a natural next chapter. At Trèsind London, we will begin with tasting menus only, inviting guests to experience a carefully curated journey that reimagines Indian cuisine through chef Himanshu’s progressive lens.”

The original Trèsind opened in 2014 and is described as offering ‘an immersive gastronomic experience that celebrates India’s rich heritage through a modern lens’.

In 2018 the group opened Trèsind Studio, located in the St. Regis Dubai, at The Palm, which last year became the first Indian restaurant in the world to receive three Michelin stars.

Passion F&B was founded by Bhupender Nath. It operates a number of other brands across Dubai and Indian including Carnival by Tresind, Avatara, Maison De Curry, Bistro Aamara, A Cappella, Nonnaverse, Viva La Goa and Gala By Tresind.
