JKS Restaurants has revealed more details about its upcoming Berenjak restaurant in Mayfair.

The site – on the corner of Duke Street and Brown Hart Gardens – was first revealed in an Instagram post last year and is set to open on 20 March, the first day of the Persian new year.

JKS Restaurants’ third London Berenjak will take inspiration from the coastal villas of Shomal and will bring the group up to a total of 10 locations globally.

Designer Atelier Wren has translated this spirit for Mayfair, leaning into dark woods, rich colour tones and intricate details to create a space that feels “relaxed yet refined, homely yet mature, and comforting while elegant”.

Set across two floors with seating for 53 guests inside – including a seven-seat private dining room – and a further 20 on the terrace, the restaurant is Berenjak’s largest in the capital and features a number of firsts for the brand.

Alongside Berenjak’s classics, the food menu will feature more than 20 new dishes, including a lunch-only selection of homely regional dishes from across Iran.

The Mayfair wine offering is Berenjak’s largest to date, with more than 70 bins spanning a mix of old and new world producers.

The list highlights innovative small growers, English producers such as Dermot Sugrue and Ben Walgate, and iconic names including Krug, Château Brane-Cantenac, Domaine de la Vougeraie, Trimbach and Château Musar, covering both younger vintages and more mature wines.

More than 20 options will be available by the glass, including a premium Coravin selection.

The rest of the beverage offering has also been expanded, with a wider cocktail selection – featuring premium spirits and Persian ingredients – alongside hot drinks including coffee and speciality teas.

Founded in London in 2018 by chef Kian Samyani in partnership with JKS Restaurants, Berenjak began as a “hole-in-the-wall” kababi in Soho.

Eight years later, it is JKS Restaurants largest single restaurant brand. There are four Berenjak restaurants in the UK (three in London and one in Soho Farmhouse in the Cotswolds), two in the US and four in the Middle East.

The original Soho location has held a Michelin Bib Gourmand since 2019, and the brand now has two additional Bib Gourmands at its Dubai and Al Maha Island locations.
