Denmark has won the Bocuse d’Or Europe 2026 following a two-day cook-off in Marseille.

This time represented by chef Christian Wellendorf, Denmark is no stranger to the competition’s podium, having also won the Bocuse d’Or Europe in 2024.

Denmark has won the Bocuse d’Or World Final three times in 2011, 2019 and 2023.

Norway and Italy, represented by Christian André Pettersen and Matteo Terranova respectively, finished second and third.

Represented by chef Oliver McGeorge, the UK placed seventh.

The top 10 have secured their place in the Grand Final, which will take place in January 2027 in Lyon, the birthplace of the high-profile international cookiong contest.

The 20 European teams competing had 5 hours 30 minutes to showcase the Mediterranean city’s key ingredients through three tests in front of a judging panel headed by Gérald Passedat, a three-Michelin-starred chef from Marseille.

“The Bocuse d’Or is not a competition like any other. It embodies the very best of gastronomy: creativity, professionalism and, above all, team spirit,” he says.

“The candidates have successfully captured and conveyed the intensity of the Mediterranean’s aromas, the delicacy of the flavours, as well as the elegance and precision of the dishes. I would like to congratulate them on their commitment and the exceptional quality of their work.”

2026 will be marked by several continental selections, which will continue over the coming months, with the Americas selection taking place in July as well as the Africa, Middle East and Asia-Pacific selections throughout 2026.

Last year, the UK placed fifth in the Bocuse d’Or World Final.
