West London hospitality group Wren Pubs will take over the former site of The Botanist on Sloane Square for a new, as yet unnamed, neighbourhood pub.

The venue will serve classic pub food using seasonal produce and independent suppliers, alongside a drinks menu featuring signature cocktails, small-batch beers, and wines from small family estates.

Given the site’s proximity to the Royal Court Theatre, the team also plans to introduce a dedicated pre- and post-theatre menu, alongside a late-night food and drinks offer.

Following the completion of the new lease in June 2026, the pub will undergo a sensitive refurbishment to return the space to its roots as a neighbourhood pub.

Interiors will draw on the history of the building and the local area, with local artists and craftspeople contributing to the design.

The site will retain its late-night licence, allowing live music and service until 1am.

7 Sloane Square will be the fourth venue for Wren Pubs, joining The Surprise in Chelsea, The Carpenter’s Arms on the Hammersmith–Chiswick border, and The Walmer Castle in Notting Hill.

“We are very proud to be opening a fourth site – especially in Chelsea, where our journey began with the opening of The Surprise – and it’s a pleasure to be working with Cadogan again,” says founder Jack Greenall.

“7 Sloane Square was originally the site of a pub that was central to the neighbourhood, so it feels particularly poignant that the venue will be returning to its original purpose.

“We’re honoured to be taking on the stewardship of such a well-loved site and look forward to welcoming both familiar faces and new guests soon.”

Property manager, investor and developer Cadogan has recently completed a £60 million investment in the public realm to make Sloane Street and Sloane Square more welcoming and attractive.

Hugh Seaborn, chief executive of Cadogan, says: “Finding the very best hospitality partners to elevate the pubs, restaurants and bars across the neighbourhood is a crucial part of this strategy.

“We know that Jack and his team at Wren Pubs create brilliant ‘locals’ with individual character, which really celebrate and contribute to the community – warm, welcoming and traditional in the best possible way.”

The announcement follows Wren Pubs’ recent acquisition of the freeholds of The Carpenter’s Arms on the Hammersmith–Chiswick border and The Walmer Castle in Notting Hill earlier this year.

Along with its third venue, The Surprise in Chelsea, the group’s three pubs now generate turnover in excess of £10 million, with like-for-like revenue up 20% year on year as of December 2025.

Further details on the new pub’s name, design and opening date are expected to be announced soon.
