Located on the former site of Armenian restaurant Lusin on Hay Hill, the restaurant aims to ‘redefine luxury dining in Mayfair’.
It is understood that Marcu is also planning to bring Kobe Steakhouse to Milton Keynes.
The interior reflects a ‘Zen-meets-Mayfair’ aesthetic, with guests greeted by a minimalist bar crafted from dark obsidian, leading into a dining room featuring soft ambient lighting, charred timber accents and leather booth seating.
There is also a PDR, the Imperial Room, which has its own dedicated sommelier and offers a bespoke tasting menu.
The menu ‘fuses traditional Japanese precision with modern European flair’, with dishes including the Signature Fillet, sourced from purebred Tajima-gyu cattle; Kobe tataki, lightly seared with ponzu and freshly grated wasabi; and the Gold Leaf tomahawk.
The brand is one of a limited number in the UK to hold a licence to serve certified A5 Japanese Kobe beef from Hyogo Prefecture.
The inaugural Kobe Steakhouse opened on Cambridge’s Bridge Street in 2024.
Originally from Romania, Marcu is also behind the more casual French Affaire in Stony Stratford, near Milton Keynes.
