Set to open next month in Coal Drops Yard, the new location will serve the brand’s Basque-style cheesecake, with its signature burnt caramelised top, alongside a rotating selection of limited-edition flavours.
Cheesecakes will also be available by the slice and in four sizes, including mini, medium, 8-inch, and 10-inch whole cakes.
To complement the cheesecakes, La Maritxu will offer a drinks menu featuring coffees, teas, chai, matcha, and soft drinks. The new site will be able to seat a total of 14 people inside and outside.
Founded in 2021 by husband-and-wife duo Ignacio and Lucia Larragoiti, La Maritxu currently operates sites in Kingly Court, Connaught Village and Greenwich.
The name ‘La Maritxu’ combines the name of Lucia’s sister ‘Maria’ with the common Basque suffix -txu (pronounced chew) a sign of familiarity and affection.
