Set to open this autumn, Gordon Ramsay at Sea Containers is billed by Gordon Ramsay Restaurants Global as a refined riverside dining destination.
The announcement follows a flurry of big-budget, high-profile openings for the world-famous chef, including Gordon Ramsay High, Lucky Cat by Gordon Ramsay and Bread Street Kitchen at 22 Bishopsgate in The City, and Hell’s Kitchen London near Marble Arch.
It is the second partnership between Gordon Ramsay Restaurants Global - the arm of the chef’s business that is focused on venues that aren’t company owned - and a hotel to be announced this year.
In March, it was revealed that Gordon Ramsay would launch his first UK fine-dining restaurant outside the capital in over two decades following a partnership with Fairmont Cheshire.
Gordon Ramsay now operates over 100 restaurants around the world.
Full details for Gordon Ramsay at Sea Containers are yet to be released, but the restaurant will offer breakfast, lunch and dinner, with “the brand’s hallmark precision and confidence interpreted through a concept carefully tailored to its setting”.
Designed by Jacu Strauss, creative director and designer of Lore Group, the interiors will take their cues from the building’s transatlantic identity and riverside setting, layering rich red tones inspired by Blackfriars Bridge with subtle references to classic cruise liner design.
“We’re proud to be partnering with Sea Containers London on such a landmark riverside destination,” says Andy Wenlock, CEO of Gordon Ramsay Restaurants Global. “From the outset, there was a clear alignment in vision, ambition and commitment to delivering world-class guest experiences. Sea Containers London has an unmistakable identity and energy, and together we’re creating a restaurant that captures the vibrancy of the South Bank while upholding the standards of quality, atmosphere and hospitality that define our restaurants globally.”
David Taylor, CEO of Lore Group, added: “Sea Containers London has always been about creating culturally relevant experiences that reflect the energy and creativity of the South Bank. Partnering with Gordon Ramsay Restaurants Global brings together two brands that share a commitment to quality, originality and world-class hospitality. This is an important moment for the hotel and for Lore Group as we continue to invest in destinations with strong identity, character and long-term appeal.”
