The Dorking-based business is being sold as a going concern with a full team in place.
Available on a new 10-year lease, Sorrel has been placed on the market with an asking price of £195,000.
Following success at his former Surrey restaurant Drake’s, Drake launched Sorrel in 2017.
Focused on precise, seasonal British and European cooking, the restaurant won a Michelin star shortly after opening.
Set within a “distinctive and elegant” Grade II-listed 18th-century building, the restaurant spans two floors, seating over 70 covers, and features a “stunning” kitchen housed within a glass extension.
The kitchen at Sorrel is currently led by former The Tudor Pass chef Alex Payne, who joined the team last year.
“Sorrel is a fantastic business and restaurant with a very strong team,” Drake says. “However, we are seeking an investor to help take Sorrel to the next level. We are very flexible, and seeking someone with passion and enthusiasm for hospitality. Alex and the team are doing a fantastic job, whilst I am starting some new project in the near future, albeit supporting Sorrel.”
Simon Chaplin at property agent Christie & Co added: “We are delighted to bring this well-loved restaurant to market, which is set up to continue its success in new ownership. It is an ideal opportunity for an existing operator to add to their portfolio, or for an investor looking for an opportunity to own such a delightful business in Surrey.”
