Designed by Marcus Barnett Studio and David Collins Studio as a quintessential English garden, The Secret Garden is described as a ‘secluded oasis’ in the centre of the city and is accessible through the hotel’s Arlington Street entrance.
Open daily from 8 June (weather permitting), it will serve elevated food from The Ritz London’s kitchen brigade that will include small plates, sandwiches and salads, seafood and meat dishes. Highlights will include the Dorset crab brioche roll; harissa charred poussin with pumpkin seed and smoked almond; and red mullet with ratatouille and bouillabaisse.
For dessert will be The Ritz vanilla trifle; vanilla and chocolate ice cream mille feuille; and a caramelised banana and chocolate flan.

The Secret Garden will also have a strong drinks element with a menu of botanical cocktails made for the location, including the Garden of Eden, made with Boatyard vodka, nasturtium distillate, melon cordial, Ramos Pinto port and Meloncello liquor topped with soda water, and the Mango Highball made with Hibiki Harmony, mango water, eucalyptus distillate, lemon verbena and black tea.
Classic cocktails, champagnes and wines will also be served alongside live entertainment.
The garden features a wide variety of grasses and perennials, from irises and hellebores, to hydrangeas, crab-apple trees and white wisteria as well as a water feature as its centrepiece. Guests can expect stylish seating sheltered by vast parasols and canopies, with bespoke cashmere throws by Johnston’s of Elgin on hand to provide warmth on late summer nights.
