Called Pronto Pasta, the QSR-style concept, which was first mooted back in early 2024 by Prezzo’s then chief executive, Dean Challenger, and launched earlier this year, currently operates out of around 20 of the group’s restaurant kitchens with at least 20 more set to go live in the coming weeks.
The concept is only available to order on Deliveroo with locations currently including Bishop Stortford, London Kensington, Nottingham, Leeds, Manchester Media City and Stevenage.
Pronto Pasta’s menu is split between a range of mains, sides, desserts and drinks. Pasta dishes include carbonara, bolognese, spicy sausage and ‘nduja, and king prawn and chilli.
A range of garlic breads, as well as fries and salads, are available as sides, while the desserts are split between tiramisu and Nutella dough balls.
The original vision for Pronto Pasta, as laid out by Challenger, was for it to operate as a bricks and mortar concept in the grab-and-go space that could fit into UK travel hubs. However, CEO James Brown suggests the plan now is to keep it as a virtual brand, with ambitions for the group to explore other ideas in that space going forwards.
“QSR interests me, but I wonder whether it’s right for us,” he told Restaurant’s sister title MCA. “It’s not our skillset. From every department it would require huge changes and new software. “We’re definitely going to do more virtual brands, though.”
