Shake Shack is set to open its first Reading Shack this July, marking its 20th location in the UK.

The New York-born burger chain will launch on Broad Street, giving customers in Reading their first opportunity to visit a physical Shake Shack restaurant after the brand was available via delivery in the town briefly in 2020.

The new restaurant will serve the brand’s core menu, including the ShackBurger®, crinkle-cut fries, flat-top dogs and hand-spun shakes.

“We’re absolutely stoked to be opening Shake Shack’s first permanent Reading location, and our 20th location in the UK,” says Richard Franks, business director at Shake Shack UK.

“It’s such a vibrant town with a strong food scene, and it feels like a natural next step as we continue to grow across the UK.

“We can’t wait to put down roots here.”

Ahead of the launch, Shake Shack has installed new hoarding at the site featuring artwork by French mural artist Nerone, offering a preview of what’s to come.

Since the original Shack opened in 2004 in NYC’s Madison Square Park, the company has expanded to over 670 locations system-wide, including over 430 in 34 US states and the District of Columbia, and over 240 international locations, including London, Hong Kong, Shanghai, Singapore, Mexico City, Istanbul, Dubai, Tokyo and Seoul.
