The restaurant will introduce a social dining concept focused on sharing plates. The updated approach will centre on a relaxed menu structure featuring snacks, small plates and desserts designed for sharing, with regularly changing dishes inspired by modern British cooking.
Restaurant Örme is located in Urmston, Manchester, and was founded in 2023 by Jack Fields, Tom Wilson and Rachel Roberts, with Fields and Wilson as directors and co-owners and Roberts as co-founder.
Wilson will leave the business at the end of June, and the restaurant will continue under the ownership and direction of Fields and Roberts, who plan to build on the work done over the past three years.
Dishes are set to include snacks such as salt’n’vinegar scampi with curry mayo; and smoked Lancashire cheese custard served on fried bread with red onion jam.
Small plates will feature cured Cornish mackerel with roasted onion dressing and English peas; as well as spring lamb with sweet and sour mint and BBQ cavolo nero.
Desserts on the new menu include an upside-down treacle tart with raspberries, lemon thyme and ginger; alongside a strawberry, balsamic and lime sundae.
A feasting menu will also be offered, featuring a chef’s selection of seasonal dishes from the daily menu, positioned as an alternative for guests who previously chose the restaurant’s tasting menu format.
The relaunch will also feature refreshed interiors, a new drinks programme, as well as extended opening hours.
“We are excited to be taking Örme in a new direction, deepening our roots in the local community,” says Roberts, the operations and wine director at Örme.
“We’ve always seen this as an extension of our home, and we want guests to feel like they are invited in for tea.
“With our extended opening hours, we will be welcoming walk-ins and drinkers.”
Fields, who is chef director, adds: “Our new menu allows us to collaborate closely with our suppliers and access highly seasonal produce with the freedom to change the dishes on a more frequent basis.”
“It’s a more paired back and comforting approach, but still highlights British ingredients using the classic techniques that Örme is built on.”
Örme will relaunch on Wednesday, 1 July, with the full menu expected to be announced in the coming weeks.
