Angela Hartnett MBE has partnered with Waitrose to launch a range of chilled Italian-inspired products.

The project follows the success of the Murano chef’s Christmas collection last year, which was described as her first foray into supermarket products, branded as ‘Angela Hartnett with Waitrose’.

Announcing the fresh collaboration on Instagram, the supermarket described the collection as a celebration of Italian cuisine, centred on ‘freshness, flavour and authenticity’.

The line-up features lasagne al forno; spinach, ricotta and parmigiano reggiano tortelli; slow-braised beef and veal girasoli; and fennel sausage ragu.

It also includes sauces such as puttanesca and classic tomato, alongside focaccias including rosemary and sea salt; and semi-dried tomato.

“I’m delighted to launch this new Italian range with Waitrose, offering authentic and sophisticated, yet simple, elevated Italian,” says Hartnett.

“It’s exactly the kind of food I love: delicate and delicious filled pastas, vibrant sauces, spaghetti and comforting lasagne – all rooted in Italian traditions and my heritage.”

Best known for her Michelin-starred restaurant Murano in Mayfair, Hartnett began her career with Gordon Ramsay and soon became one of his key lieutenants.

She struck out on her own in 2008 to launch Murano. She now also runs the more informal Cafe Murano, which has four central London locations.

Last year the chef also opened Cicoria by Angela Hartnett at the Royal Opera House on Covent Garden’s Bow Street serving a menu of ‘sophisticated yet simple’ dishes, showcasing the flavours and ingredient-led approach that have become hallmarks of Hartnett’s career.

Waitrose is offering 20% off the range until 7 July.
