As chef partner, Othman will lead the provocatively named brand into a ‘new chapter’, building on its existing foundations while ‘introducing a fresh creative perspective for the next generation of guests’.
Founded in Beirut, CLAP now operates restaurants in London, Dubai and Ibiza.
CLAP London opened in Knightsbridge in 2023. The 9,731 sq ft venue spans three floors and features a rooftop bar and lounge, a main dining room and a ground-floor café.
Othman will unveil a limited-edition summer menu at CLAP London on 7 July, ahead of the launch of a new menu this autumn.
“CLAP has built something truly special over the last few years. What excites me about this partnership is the opportunity to build on that strong foundation while bringing new ideas and experiences to the table. We share the same approach to genuine hospitality and authenticity, and I’m looking forward to this new era together,” says Othman.
With a CV that includes senior roles at Japanese restaurants Zuma and Twiga by Sumosan, Othman launched Hotaru Holdings in 2019, developing seven restaurant concepts and working on more than 25 advisory projects.
His Dubai flagship, REIF Japanese Kushiyaki, holds a Michelin Bib Gourmand award.
His other Dubai concepts include TERO, SIO Ramen House and KONA Pizza House.
CLAP is part of AlphaMind which is also behind Soho restaurant Sucre.
The group’s other brands include ONGAKU, Babylon, Alma Bar, Bar Du Port and Iris.
