The announcement was made via Instagram, where founders Lisa and Daniel Hatton said despite an ‘amazing’ 10-year journey, it was time to “concentrate on other things”.
Paying tribute to former and current employees, the couple wrote: “To all of our fabulous team past and present, you are the faces of Hattons and we couldn’t have done it without you!”
The post also looked back on the wide range of events and experiences the business has hosted over the years, including breakfasts, lunches, supper clubs, wine tastings and food and drink festivals.
The founders also thanked customers for their support over the past decade, including during the Covid-19 pandemic: “To our wonderful customers, who have supported us through rain and shine, through good times and hard times when the world stood still, you are the reason we open our doors, so thank you.”
The announcement also included a personal message to their son Elliott, saying: “Hattons began because of you and will continue to grow because of you.”
While the Pantiles venue is closing, the business said it is not coming to an end and invited guests to visit their other venue, The Deer Park Cafe, in Eridge, East Sussex, as well as ‘all the exciting future events we have planned’.
Hattons was established in 2016 by the pair. Before launching the business, Daniel had previously earned a Michelin star in 2013 at Thackerays.
Lisa’s previous experience included design and business management and she now oversees the day-to-day running of the Hattons brand, including its other ventures, The Deer Park Cafe and Hattons Events, which operates across the South East.
