ATLAS James & Maria Close will offer an immersive “chef-guided” dining experience inspired by the places, flavours and experiences the couple have shared throughout their careers and travels.
The restaurant will serve a single tasting menu priced at £190 at lunch and £225 at dinner.
A chef’s table experience will also be available, costing £250 at lunch and £300 at dinner.
As at the pair’s former two-Michelin-starred restaurant The Raby Hunt, meals will begin with a selection of globally inspired snacks, including takes on ceviche and the chilled Spanish soup ajo blanco.
The main dining experience will include dishes such as La Rochelle, described as “a sequence of dishes inspired by the fishermen’s tradition of moules marinières from the Charente-Maritime coast”, and Foothills of the Jura Mountains, celebrating the classic pairing of quail with Vin Jaune sauce.
The wine programme will be overseen by head of wine Manuel Ghezzi, formerly head sommelier at The Connaught, and will be supported by three pairing options: Essence (non-alcoholic) for £115, All Around the World for £145 and Postcards for £245.
Designed as a contemporary addition to Rockliffe’s historic estate, the 584 sqm pavilion combines floor-to-ceiling glazing overlooking the grounds with interiors inspired by the North East’s heritage and the Closes’ international travels.
The kitchen features three Molteni ranges built to the couple’s specifications.

There has been a lot of hard work by so many people behind the scenes, and we can’t wait to open the bookings, and the doors, so that guests can experience ATLAS.”
The Closes will also oversee five further food and beverage venues across the resort, formerly known as Rockliffe Hall.
These include Italian-American all-day restaurant Rialto, Japanese-inspired cocktail bar Ro and an elevated sports bar at The Clubhouse.
