Viral Manchester dessert brand Buttercup Pudding Bar will open its first standalone site in the city this autumn.

The move follows the success of its nine-month residency at General Store Deansgate Square, which will come to an end later this month.

Since launching, Buttercup has served around 50,000 puddings, hosted sell-out pop-ups across Manchester and built a loyal following around its build-your-own pudding bar.

Its range includes classic banana pudding alongside flavours such as sticky cornflake and raspberry, and Biscoff tiramisu.

“This feels like the perfect step for Buttercup,” says founder Natasha ‘Tash’ Black.

“It’s been such a pleasure to call General Store home for the past nine months, and I’m so grateful to the team there for helping us grow into what we are today. But as we continue to grow, now feels like the right time for us to step out on our own. I can’t wait for people to see what we’ve been working on and bring Buttercup to life in our own place.”

The location has yet to be revealed, but the new site will offer new pudding flavours and a refreshed selection of toppings, including cookie dough bites and brownies.

A new drinks menu is also in development, while rotating specials will introduce further flavours and toppings throughout the year.
