The 2,500sq ft bar, which will occupy Arch 32-33 at Southwark Quarter, will focus on martinis, aperitivo and Italian-American bar plates. The venue will feature what it describes as South London’s first dedicated martini list, alongside Italian wines, beers and a wider cocktail offering. Guests will be able to choose accompaniments, including gildas and blue cheese olives.
Food will include crudo, fritti and Kemble’s interpretations of Italian-American classics. The restaurant’s signature 18-inch pizzas will continue to be served at the original site, while the bar will have its own kitchen operating independently from the restaurant.
The 200-cover space will feature lounge seating, a long central bar and outdoor seating. The interiors have been designed by Polina Sychova, drawing on Milan and Manhattan.
“Spring St. Pizza has always been about more than pizza,” says Kemble.
“We’ve always been drawn to New York’s Italian-American neighbourhood restaurants and bars, places where you can drop in for a drink, stay for something to eat and where there’s a real sense of generosity and familiarity.
“The new bar gives us a chance to explore more of that culture beyond pizza, with a bigger drinks programme and a completely new food menu.
“We care a lot about the ingredients we use and how we cook, and I’ve brought some of what I learnt in fine dining into a much more relaxed, approachable setting.
“It feels like a natural next step for Spring St. Pizza, the same spirit, but with more to explore.”
Kemble opened Spring St. Pizza in April 2025 with pizzas including Margarita; Sausage and Friarelli; and the New Yorker (San Marzano tomato, Rebel Charcuterie pepperoni, Parmigiano Reggiano, hot honey and basil).
Kemble’s CV also includes Hedone, Fäviken, and West Sussex restaurants The Pass, and Chalk.
