Located on King’s Road, Sonara will occupy more than 1,500 sqm across two floors of the One Twenty development, combining communal bathing, treatments, recovery facilities and an 80-cover restaurant.
Sonara says it is built around the idea of bringing bathing and dining together as a social experience. Guests will arrive, change into swimwear and a robe, and be shown to a table reserved for the duration of their visit, which will serve as their base throughout the club.
The restaurant will offer a European-inspired menu, with food designed to suit different stages of a visit, from lighter dishes between bathing cycles to longer meals.
The bathing programme will include heat, steam, cold immersion and rest. At its centre will be ‘London’s largest’ traditional oak-lined banya chamber with capacity for up to 30 guests.
Steam Masters will lead Parenie, a Russian whisk-steaming ritual using handcrafted veniki made from birch, oak or fir.
Other facilities announced for the club include a snow room, red salt grotto, hammam, cold plunge, shower buckets, floating room and hyperbaric oxygen chamber. Sonara will also have four private suites.
The venue will be open to both members and day guests. Membership will include access to a private Members’ Lounge and a programme of year-round member events and gatherings.
