The agreement will see TRGC develop the Australian-founded brand launch in a number of other major UK rail stations.
Operated by TRGC, the Waterloo site will be open from 7am to 11pm, offering an all-day menu designed for both dine-in and grab-and-go customers.
The menu includes freshly prepared sandwiches, bakery products, hot dishes and speciality coffee, alongside breakfast, brunch, lunch and evening options.
The brand says the format is designed for a high-volume travel environment, with an emphasis on speed of service, operational efficiency and consistency.
The Waterloo opening follows TRGC’s launch of two Jones the Grocer locations at Heathrow Terminal 2 in 2024.
“We’re really pleased to be building on our existing partnership with Jones the Grocer and bringing the brand into UK rail, starting with Waterloo,” says TRGC CEO Jonathan Knight.
“It’s a concept we know works well in travel environments and one where we see real long-term potential as we expand beyond airports.
“We’ve built a strong relationship with Yunib and the team through our airport locations, and this next step feels like a natural progression.
“Waterloo gives us a great platform to launch from, with strong potential to grow the concept across further locations.”
Yunib Siddiqui, CEO of Jones the Grocer, adds: “Expanding into UK rail is a natural next step in the evolution of the brand within travel environments.
“This partnership enables us to introduce Jones the Grocer to a new, high-frequency audience through a format that is both relevant and scalable.
“With TRGC’s operational expertise, we are well positioned to deliver a consistent, quality-driven experience in this channel.”
Jones the Grocer was founded in Australia in 1996 and is now headquartered in Dubai. The brand operates internationally, including across major airport locations, and has a proposition centred on artisan food, open kitchens and its ‘gourmet food for everyday living’ positioning.
