Milk Burger will open on Westbourne Grove on 5 October in a site that was at one point home to Gourmet Burger Kitchen.
It is the latest project from Alina Kosichkina and Dima Zakhodiakin, who built a portfolio of 32 restaurants in Kyiv before relocating to London following Russia’s invasion of Ukraine.
The pair announced plans for a Notting Hill bakery and café called Birdmilk in 2024, although the venture never opened.
Milk Burger will pair burgers and sandwiches with Champagne, wine and cocktails. The full menu has yet to be released, but planned dishes include a bone marrow and truffle burger, a spicy smash burger and a Cuban sandwich, followed by soft serve or fried cherry pie.
The interior, designed by David Archer, whose previous projects include Chiltern Firehouse and The Standard, will combine a burgundy-tiled dining room with a lighter space finished in timber and pale blue.
“People are tired of overly complicated food, but at the same time we care more and more about the quality of what we eat,” says Kosichkina. “For me, there is nothing better than a burger or sandwich made with the best possible ingredients, paired with great Champagne, wine or a cocktail.”
Paredes added: “A burger doesn’t give you anywhere to hide – the produce, the seasoning, the technique all have to be right. That’s what excites me about Milk Burger: bringing the same standards I’d apply in a formal kitchen to food that’s meant to be eaten with your hands and enjoyed without ceremony.”
Milk Burger will open daily from noon to 9pm and operate on a walk-in basis.
