Located within waterfront development Phillips Point, the restaurant will open ahead of Los Mochis Los Angeles, which was announced last year and now looks set to launch in 2028.
Los Mochis West Palm Beach will overlook the Intracoastal Waterway towards Palm Beach Island, Flagler Drive and the Atlantic Ocean, and will include a ‘hidden’ 12-seat omakase restaurant.
Phillips Point is home to private banks, financial institutions, law firms and global businesses, which, the brand says, places it at the heart of the city’s growing business district.
The restaurant will retain the group’s Japanese-Mexican cuisine, approach to hospitality and cultural programming, with its design and wider offering tailored to the waterfront setting.
Further details on the restaurant’s design, menu, chefs and programming will be announced in the coming months.
“When we launched Los Mochis, people told us that combining Japanese and Mexican cuisine was crazy. We believed there was something powerful in bringing these two cultures together – and London proved us right,” says Markus Thesleff, founder and CEO of Thesleff Group.
“I studied in the US, so bringing Los Mochis to America is an incredibly personal and exciting moment for me. West Palm Beach feels like the perfect place to begin this next chapter. It is a city going through an extraordinary transformation, and Phillips Point gives us a truly exceptional waterfront stage.
“Related Ross shares our ambition to create destinations that have a genuine impact on the cities they are part of, and we couldn’t have asked for a better partner or a more exciting location for our US debut.”
Thesleff made his name as a restaurateur in the Middle East with brands including OKKU and Claw. In 2021, he opened Los Mochis in Notting Hill, marking his UK debut. A second, much larger Los Mochis followed in the City.
Thesleff Group also operates Knightsbridge Italian restaurant Sale e Pepe, Notting Hill cocktail bar Viajante87 and Japanese omakase restaurants Juno and Luna, which trade within Los Mochis Notting Hill and Los Mochis London City respectively.
