The Dorset-based hospitality group is taking over the Grade II-listed former Renoufs Cheese & Wine Bar site, around 100 metres from Poole Quay. The venue will serve Spanish small plates designed for sharing, using Spanish ingredients and traditional cooking methods.
Executive chef Quentin Royles will oversee the food operation, with the restaurant positioned around long lunches, after-work drinks and evening dining.
The site also includes a ‘secret’ rear courtyard, which will form part of the new Bodega and provide an outdoor space at the back of the High Street property.
“Poole is a town we love, and this building has real history and charm,” says Dave Burns, founder of Quay Hospitality Group.
“Bringing Bodega here feels like a natural next step for us. We want it to be a place locals return to week after week.
“We’re especially excited about the courtyard at the back - which is a gem that people will be delighted to discover.”
Jason Giddings, co-founder, adds: “Bodega is all about generous food, good company and a bit of Spanish warmth, which we are all going to need this winter.
“Opening our third Bodega site in such a fantastic location is a proud moment for the whole Quay Hospitality team.”
Bodega Poole will be the third site for the brand, joining existing locations in Southbourne and Christchurch. Bodega is owned and operated by Quay Hospitality Group, which was founded by Dave Burns and Jason Giddings and also operates The Thomas Tripp, Eighteen, The Smugglers and Salty’s Yarmouth across Dorset and the Isle of Wight.
