Istanbul-born cult burger brand Zula Burger will open a second London site in Spitalfields in November, introducing a fast-service format.

Located near Spitalfields Market, the new restaurant will serve the brand’s signature burgers alongside the Spitalfields Wagyu Burger, featuring a Wagyu beef patty, double cheddar, French mayonnaise, sambal, black pepper, gherkin and onion in a house-baked brioche bun.

Other menu options will include The Basic, with cheddar, caramelised onion, pickle relish and truffle mayonnaise; The B.I.G., featuring two patties, cheddar, caramelised onion, pickle relish, truffle mayonnaise and mustard sauce; and The Fake Mac, with shredded lettuce and Mac sauce.

The opening will introduce a refreshed visual identity developed in collaboration with designer Annabel Colterjohn. The interior will combine metallic accents, warm wooden tones and the brand’s signature vermillion orange, alongside an ordering counter.

“As a brand, it’s super exciting to be bringing Zula right next to one of the city’s most iconic markets and into the heart of East London’s thriving burger scene,” says managing director Kaan Yildirim.

“Zula Spitalfields places the brand’s already much-loved burgers into a new format and a design that fully embraces East London’s edge.”

The business bakes its brioche buns in-house daily, sources beef from British supplier Aubrey Allen and makes its sauces in-house.

“A great burger is all about balance. Every ingredient matters, and none should overpower another,” says founder Cihan Kıpçak.

“This begins with the bun; bread is so simple, but it needs to be treated with the same care as the beef or sauce.”

Founded in Istanbul in 2017 by chef Cihan Kıpçak, Zula Burger has expanded from its original backstreet restaurant to locations across Istanbul, Bodrum and London.

The brand combines fine-dining techniques with street food, drawing on Kıpçak’s experience in Michelin-starred restaurants. He developed the concept while working as executive chef at Spago Istanbul.

The Spitalfields opening will join Zula Marble Arch as the brand’s second London site, alongside six locations in Istanbul.
