Doubletree opens in London

The Courthouse Hotel in Londons Regent Street is re-branded a Doubletree by Hilton as part of the expansion of the brand across Europe

The Courthouse Hotel in London`s Regent Street has been re-opened as a Doubletree by Hilton hotel as part of the company`s plans to re-brand 20 hotels in the UK over the next five years.

The re-brand of the 112-bedroom hotel comes as Hilton signs a franchise agreement with Sanguine Hospitality to change the 110-bedroom Hoole Hall Country Club and Hotel in Chester to a Doubletree by Hilton by early next year.

Patrick Fitzgibbon, senior vice president of development for Hilton Hotels - UK, Europe and Africa, said: "This exciting hotel opening in London and our latest development deal in Chester truly demonstrate the momentum behind the Doubletree by Hilton brand and the fast-growing international expansion of this fine group of full-service hotels."

The Doubletree by Hilton brand is one of the upscale hotel brands in the Hilton Family of Hotels and is aimed at business travellers and tourists. Hilton is carrying out a rapid expansion of the brand across the world following a re-brand of hotels in the US.

Nearly 30 hotels have joined the Doubletree brand so far this year, bringing the total number of hotels under the new brand across the world to 200.

Dave Horton, senior vice president - brand management for Doubletree, said: "As the incredible growth of Doubletree continues to extend to some of the most desirable business and leisure destinations around the world, we are honoured to commemorate our brand`s hotel development milestone of more than 200 hotels with the opening of our first Doubletree by Hilton in Central London."

The Courthouse Doubletree by Hilton will be operated by a subsidiary of Mastcraft Limited under a franchise agreement with Hilton.
