Nico Simeone is taking his Lennox restaurant concept to his hometown of Glasgow.

The Six by Nico founder is transforming his restaurant on Byres Road in the city into a second outpost of Lennox, the brand that made its debut in Manchester earlier this year.

Opening next month following a complete transformation of the site, Lennox is Simeone’s ‘more stripped back, instinctive and deeply personal’ brand that he describes as being ‘the other side of the coin’ to his ever-changing Six by Nico format.

Inspired in part by the New York City scene, Lennox has a stripped back and minimal aesthetic with a decor comprising steel and concrete and low lighting and dry-age fridges for both meat and fish on view.

The restaurant will take a fire-led cooking approach with food cooked on a built-in Japanese barbecue in the open kitchen.

“I am both excited and nervous to introduce Lennox to the Glasgow community,” says Simeone.

“While Six by Nico on Byres Road has been one of our most successful sites, I’ve felt a growing pull to strip things back and reveal a more personal side of my cooking.

“It may be seen as a risk, but I truly believe in Lennox and in the food we’re creating. Bringing this concept home to Glasgow, where my journey began, makes it all the more meaningful.”

Lennox made its debut in Manchester in March promising ‘unapologetic indulgent cooking’. Unlike Six by Nico, which serve a six-course tasting menu, Lennox has a wide menu with dishes served at Manchester that include mussels with sourdough, ‘nduja, and pickled fennel; buffalo squid with nori ranch sauce and pickled celery; gnocchi with chicken wings and parmesan; and sole kiev with caesar salad and burnt lemon.

It also serves a range of dry-aged meats including aged rib eye, porterhouse, and chateaubriand.

The Six by Nico in Glasgow’s Merchant City will remain open.
